Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP)

There are three steps to a SMTP transaction. The transaction is started by a MAIL command which gives the sender identification. Next a series of one or more RCPT commands follow giving the receiver information. Then a DATA command gives the mail data. Finally the end of mail data indicator confirms the transaction.
